Studio Galante Fine Art

Louis Galante, Pam’s older brother, is a fine artist and has applied his extraordinary talent to a wide range of subjects. His works are fine in detail, depth, and balance and in each piece, there is a sensitivity to the process, a joy in the making.

Louis completed his college studies in the United States and Paris before moving to Barcelona, Spain to work with Catalan artisans to study techniques in furniture decoration and stained glass. Subsequently he received a second degree in painting restoration from the Restoration Institute, Palazzo Spinelli in Florence, Italy. In 1989 he opened a studio for book illustration in his beloved Florence, obtaining commissions from publishers in the USA, UK, and various other western European countries. (He was the sole illustrator for The Sistine Chapel pictured to the right.) The Vatican commissioned this book shortly after the restoration of the Sistine Chapel and it was exclusively sold through the Vatican Museum. Having lived most of his adult life abroad, “Luigi” moved back to his native Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2004 where he continues to pursue a career in book illustration, Italian frescoes, murals, and portraiture.
